Cost of a management course

The cost of a management course can vary significantly between training providers ( £1500 – £3500) for the same management qualification) so it is worth shopping about.

Having said that do not be tempted to sacrifice quality of support for the sake of a few pounds as you will invariably regret it later.

Despite the fact that colleges are subsidised for the management courses and qualifications they deliver, they are not always the lowest cost. Lower cost and high quality can often be obtained with private training organisations that do not carry such significant overheads, particularly when distance learning is offered.

Things to watch are hidden costs in the form of additional charges. Check carefully to find out if the advertised course fee covers:

·         Awarding body registration costs

·         Certification fees

·         Learning materials

·         Tutor support

·         VAT

Many training providers and colleges charge additional fees for these over and above the advertised costs

You may be able to obtain support for your fees from your employer, through carer development loans of government funding schemes such as leadership training funds. Your local Business Link should be able to let you know about and management training funding grants that your employer can obtain.
